CCR Question 2: How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

The product engages audiences primarily through its motivational sports narrative and themes of discipline, determination, and mental toughness. These themes are really relatable to young athletes and teenagers, who may experience pressure, isolation, and the challenges of training or personal improvement. By focusing on intense training moments and emotional dedication, the film creates a connection with viewers who understand the effort required to improve in sports or other areas of life.

The pacing and visuals also help engage audiences. Slow, focused moments during training show struggle and perseverance, while faster pacing during workout sequences builds energy and intensity. Close-up shots of effort and concentration help viewers emotionally connect with the athlete, making the story feel personal and realistic.

As a real media text, the film would most likely be distributed through online platforms and social media, which are commonly used by younger audiences. Platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok would allow the film to reach audiences who regularly consume motivational or sports-related content. 

These platforms are effective because they allow content to spread quickly and reach communities that are already interested in fitness, athletics, and motivational storytelling.

Welcome back to the podcast where we’re discussing the process behind creating our film project and reflecting on what we learned during production.

Host:
Now let’s talk about CCR Question 2: How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Me:
My film mainly engages audiences through its motivational story and themes of discipline, determination, and mental toughness. The film focuses on an athlete pushing through intense training, which can be very relatable for young athletes or teenagers who are working toward improving themselves in sports or other areas of life.

Host:
So the story itself helps the audience connect with the character?

Me:
Yeah, exactly. I tried to show both the physical and mental effort involved in training. By using intense workout scenes and emotional moments, the audience can see the dedication and struggle the athlete goes through. I also used different pacing in the film. Some scenes are slower and more focused to show the character’s determination, while the training scenes are faster and more energetic to build intensity.

Host:
And how would this film reach audiences if it were a real media product?

Me:
If this were distributed as a real media text, it would most likely be shared on online platforms where younger audiences already watch content. Platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok would be good places to distribute the film or share clips and trailers. Those platforms are popular for motivational videos and sports content, so they would help the film reach people who are interested in fitness, athletics, and personal improvement.

So the platform choice also helps target the right audience.

Me:
Exactly. Using those platforms would make it easier for the film to reach the audience it was designed for.
